Kutztown Set to Receive Recycling Grant, Says Day
Kutztown Borough will be receiving $164,545 for its drop-off facility and recycling program through the Recycling Development and Implementation Grant, according to Rep. Gary Day (R-Lehigh/Berks).
The grants are awarded by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
“Encouraging municipal recycling programs is a good investment of state resources because it frees up dwindling landfill space and ultimately keeps the price of disposal bills stable,” said Day.
For additional information on recycling, municipal waste planning and waste reduction, visit the DEP Web site at www.dep.state.pa.us.
The Recycling Development and Implementation Grant Program reimburses counties and municipalities for up to 90 percent of eligible recycling program development and implementation expenses. The grants are made possible under Act 101 of 1988, the Municipal Waste Planning, Recycling and Waste Reduction Act.
