Rep. Gary Day (R-Lehigh/Berks) announced several recent grants awarded to communities in the 187th Legislative District by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
“While advocating efficient use of state resources, I continue to work towards bringing assistance back home through programs that encourage job growth and support our community,” said Day.
The following grants were awarded to municipalities and businesses in the 187th District.
-
Richmond Township in Berks County received a Sewage Facilities Enforcement Grant of $3,146.

Upper Macungie Township in Lehigh County has been awarded a Conservation Works! grant of $181,544 from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program.
Sewage grants come from DEP and reimburse 42.5 percent of the eligible expenses of a municipality’s sewage enforcement.
The small business grants are the result of a new program created by the Alternative Energy Investment Act of 2008.
The Conservation Works! program encourages energy efficiency and conservation, and retrofitting of older government buildings with alternative and renewable energy technologies. Funding is available through federal stimulus money.
